JACKSON, Miss.- The Jackson State University Lady Tiger volleyball team prepares to travel to Prairie View, Texas on Thursday to participate in the 2007 Southwestern Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Tigers closed the 2007 regular season last Saturday, with a 1-3 loss on the road to the Grambling State Lady Tigers. The 17-16 overall (5-3 conference) Lady Tigers of Jackson State will travel to the campus of Prairie View A&M to participate in the eight game, two-day tournament. This tournament will showcase the talent of the eight participating institutions; all in hopes of clinching the title. JSU goes into the tournament ranked third in SWAC East play. Led by seniors, Amanda Daniels, Nicole Walker, Corrina Cox, Kimberly Hendon, and Brittany Lewis, the Lady Tigers open tournament play versus Grambling State. The JSU Lady Tigers split the two matchups this season, winning the first match, 3-1, at home, before traveling to Grambling and loosing the second match-up 1-3. Match time is set for 9 a.m. |
