DECATUR, Ala. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers split their four matches this weekend in the SWAC East Round Robin at Decatur's Point Mallard Park. After losing matches to Alcorn State and Alabama A&M to start the weekend, JSU rallied to beat Mississippi Valley and Alabama State. The weekend started on a dour note as Alcorn State defeated JSU 4-0, followed by a 4-1 loss to the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A&M. But JSU rebounded with back-to-back victories. In match three, against MVSU the Lady Tigers swept the doubles (2-0) and the singles (2-0). In doubles play, partners Angela Rose and Daniela Berry, and partners Valentine Prado and Paulina Vargas swept MVSU (8-0) respectively. In singles play, Vargas swept MVSU (6-0, 4-0) and Rose swept MVSU (6-0, 6-0). In the last match against the Alabama State Lady Hornets the Lady Tigers swept both the doubles and singles matches. |
