For Jackson State (17-24), Breonne Spikes went 1-for-2 with a run scored while Katelyn Jackson had an RBI single in the sixth inning.

Southern scored one run in the second inning, one in the fourth and two in the fifth inning, fueled by Nichols's RBI single.
