JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers softball team dropped a non-conference twin bill to the Belhaven Lady Blazers on senior day at the JSU Softball Complex. In the opener JSU fell 3-0. Jessica Villegas suffered the loss, as she pitched seven innings and allowed eight hits and three runs. For the game JSU recorded only three hits. Amanda Boggan, Ebony Stevenson and Farren Wright each recorded a hit for the Lady Tigers. In the second game Brittney Talley got the loss. She pitched seven innings and gave up 11 hits and four runs. Villegas led JSU's offense as she went 2-3 with a run and RBI. Six other Lady Tigers also recorded a hit. Wright went 1-3 with a RBI. JSU will return to action Friday when the Lady Tigers travel to Itta Bena, MS to face Mississippi Valley State in SWAC action. |
