JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State University women's soccer team is the No. 1 team in scoring offense in NCAA Division I. The Lady Tigers have recorded 50 goals this season, an average of 3.57 per game. "This is a big accomplishment for us," said JSU head coach Niji Olagbegi. JSU freshman midfielder/forward Naira Crimiel is ranked in two NCAA statistical categories. She is ranked fourth in points per game with 2.42 (34 total) nd fifth in goals per game with 1.0 (14). Crimiel is also ranked No. 64 in assists per game with a .43 average. Other Lady Tigers to make NCAA rankings include Rochelle Moncrieffe, who is 32nd in assist/game with .5, Germaine Tuckett (50th in assists/game .46). Zachene Crooks is 81st in goals per game with .538 and Britney Berry is 86th in saves per game with 5.09 and 92nd in save percentage at.812. The Lady Tigers will next play on Oct. 26 when JSU travels to Montgomery, Ala. to face the Alabama State Lady Hornets. |
