JACKSON, MISS. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers golf team have secured the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals and will be traveling to Athens, Ga. to compete in the East regionals. The East, Central and West make up the three regional tournaments that will be conducted May 8-10. The Division I Women's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the 2008 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship Regionals naming Jackson State one of 21 schools to the East regional which will be played at the UGA Golf Course, in Athens, Georgia, hosted by the University of Georgia. A total of 324 participants have been selected for regional competition. Of these players, 126 will advance to the championships finals. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each regional. Jackson State finished in first place in the 2008 SWAC women's golf tournament with a team total of 616 making the win its fourth consecutive and 11th overall for the University.
