ATLANTA, Ga. - The Jackson State women's golf team finished in second place in the 2007 Women's Collegiate Championships held at the Stone Mountain Golf Course in Atlanta, Ga. Saturday and Sunday. The Lady Tigers finished the tournament with a 687 (332-355). Bethune-Cookman College won the tournament with a score of 644 (318-326). JSU's Shasta Averyhardt came in second place in the individual standings. The junior finished the two day event by shooting a 158 (77-81). Merielle LeBlanc shot a 167 (80-87), placing her in a tie for seventh place. Nikeya Peay came in 12th place with a score of 174 (87-87). Lauren Ragland finished with a 188 (88-100). The Lady Tigers will return to the links for the 2007 PGA Minority Golf Championship on May 12-13 in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
