JONESBORO, Ark. - After a rough first day, going 1-4, the Jackson State Lady Tigers bowling team won three of five matches. The Lady Tigers started the first match against Vanderbilt, the defending 2007 NCAA Champions. JSU bowlers were able to keep their composure and executed great shots to get a big win. In the second match the Lady Tigers faced Nebraska and things did not go as well as the first match. Against Maryland-Eastern Shores things continued to go badly for JSU. In the fourth match JSU bounced back to get a win against Morgan State. In the final match of the day JSU snapped Sacred Heart's nine game winning streak. Sunday, day three, will consist of five sets of Baker matches. "We had to regroup and be more focused on our spare shooting," said head coach Vicky Boykins. Our bowlers came through when needed. We bowled higher scores today." Ashley Blakley bowled a 227, Autumn Glencamp recorded a 213 and Ryann Richardson a 202. |
