Nov. 18, 2008 SALT LAKE CITY, UT - The Jackson State women's basketball team fell 77-49 to the University of Utah Utes Monday night at the Huntsman Center. Beatrice Banks led JSU with 10 points on 3-9 shooting. Erica Trahan and Phenicia Taylor each added eight points for the Lady Tigers. Four Utes reached double figure scoring. Morgan Warburton scored a game-high 18 points, Kalee Whipple scored 16, Katie King added 15 and Halie Sawyer chipped in 13. The Lady Tigers hung around in the first half. After being down by nine points with 4:42 to play in the half JSU the Lady Tigers were able to cut the lead down to 34-30 by halftime. In the second half Utah outscored the Lady Tigers 43-19. For the game JSU shot 44% from the field and pulled down 26 rebounds. Utah shot 51% from the field and grabbed 44 boards. JSU will return to action Nov. 25 for the Great Alaska Shootout.
