Jan. 12, 2008 LORMAN, Miss. - The Jackson State women's basketball team improved to a perfect 3-0 record in Southwestern Athletic Conference play Saturday night by beating the Alcorn State Lady Braves 62-58. LaSharee Christian scored a game-high 21 points and dished out a game-high five assists in the win. Christian went 9-21 from the field and grabbed nine rebounds. Carena Easley was JSU's only other double-digit scorer with 11 points. She made 4 of her 8 field goal attempts and recorded a game-high five steals. Kenisha Daniels led Alcorn State with 19 points and 13 rebounds in the losing effort. Corneshia Hollis followed with 13 points on 3-10 shooting. At halftime the score was tied 24-24. In the second half JSU (5-8) outscored Alcorn State (4-10, 0-3) 38-34. For the game JSU out rebounded Alcorn State 37-33. Jackson State will return to action Monday, Jan. 14 when the Lady Tigers travel to Baton Rouge, LA to face Southern in SWAC action. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
