JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State men's tennis team pulled out a 4-3 win over The University of Texas at Tyler Patriots at home on March 5 improving their season record to 6-3. In the doubles, UT Texas captured the first two matches but it was Sergio Salina and Alejandro Martinez who were able to defeat the Patriots in the last match 8-3. In singles play Martines beat Marius Koeing 6-1, 6-0, Yacouba Treore beat Brad Funter 6-1, 6-0, Salinas beat Tripp Former 6-1, 6-4 and Arturo Jimenez beat Ryan May 4-6, 6-3, 6-0. JSU will return to action at home on March 7 at 1:00 p.m. when the Tigers host the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. |
