OXFORD, Miss. - The Jackson State men's outdoor track and field team had several outstanding performances at the Ole Miss Invitational Saturday evening. The JSU 4x400 meter relay team recorded a third place finish with a time of 3:11.10. Wilbert Smith finished in fourth place in the 110 m hurdles with a time of 14.35. Lincoln Lampley and Jason Gunter came in 21st and 24th place respectively in the 200 m dash. Debodrick Walton and Shafer Sherrer were fifth and sixth place with times of 47.69 and 47.86 in the 400 m dash. Allen Senegal was 13th in the 400 and Desmond Lowe Durante Ponder and Mark Spooner finished 26th, 27th and 43rd in the event. Marqueno Davis came in 16th place in the 800 m run and Bernard Lemnyny came in 28th place in the 5000 m run. In the 400 m hurdles Derrick Ray finished in sixth place with a time of 53.65, Ponder was ninth with a time of 54.48, Desmond Lowe came in 13th place and Dedrick Burnett finished 17th. Senegal came in seventh in the pole vault with a height of 22'11.75". Jason Gunter was 12, Afolabi Ayanwale 21st and Jaumale Sykes 28th. Ayanwale came in seventh place in the long jump with a distance of 45'5.25" and Gunter was ninth with a jump of 44'2". Ronnel Jones finished eighth in the discus throw (150'2") and 10th in the shot put (46'5.25"). Burnett was ninth in the javelin throw with toss of 148'3". |
