BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- The Jackson State University men's track and field team recorded five top ten finishes on the second day of the Indiana Relays on Saturday, Feb. 3, held at Gladstein Fieldhouse at Indiana University. The JSU 4x800 meter relay team took first place with a time of 7:42.34. Eric Speer, Kevin Itima, Courtney Irby and Kendall Raines make up the team. The 4x400 meter relay team came in fourth place with a time of 3:17.21. Team members include Schaffer Sherrer, Debrodrick Walton, Speer and Derrick Ray. In the 400 meter dash Sherrer took second place behind Clayton State's Eric Simmons. Sherrer finished with a time of 47.87 seconds. Itima finished in seventh place in the 600 meter run. He finished with a time of 1:22.50. Courtney Irby came in eighth place in the 800 meter run, finishing with a time of 2:10.38. |
