Fayetteville, Ark. - The Jackson State University men's track and field team had four top ten finishes in the Arkansas Invitational on Friday. Eric Speer posted JSU best finish as he took second place in the 800 m run with a time of 1:50.64. The Tigers DMR (distance medley relay) team came in sixth place. Brandon Woods came in seventh place in the 60 m hurdles. His time was 8.20. Lavarius Giles finished in tenth place in the 200 m dash with a time of 21.92. Other notable finishes for the Tigers include Schaffer Sherrer finished in 18th place in the 400 m dash. His time was 48.47. Allen Senegal finished 36th with a time of 49.93. Ladaniel Briscoe and Derrick Ray who came in 20th and 21st place in the 200 m. Briscoe finished with a time of 22.41 and Ray with a 22.60 mark. Jamal Jones came in 20th place in the 3000 m run with a time of 9:28.95. The Tigers will return to action on Jan. 27 to participate in the Boston Indoor Games in Boston, Mass. |
