TUNICA, Miss. - On the final day of the 2007 JSU National Invitational the Jackson State men's golf team shot a 312 to hold on to sixth place at the Tunica National Golf Course on Tuesday. After the first day of play the Tigers were in sixth place, shooting 295 and 296 over the first two rounds. Murray State finished as the first place team with a score of 850 (282, 286, 282). Southern Illinois was the runner up with an 861 team score (284, 288, 289). Both Murray State and Southern Illinois had four golfers to finish among the top 20 players. Senior Michael Bailey was the only Tiger to place in the top 20. Bailey shot a 220 (71, 72, 77), which was good enough for a tie for 19th place. Junior Reggie Newton tied for 32nd place with a score of 225 (71, 76, 78). Freshman Albert Kilgore, III shot a 227 (77, 73, 77) which placed him in a tie for 34th place. Freshman James Cox, Jr. finished in a tie for 40th place with a 231 score (76, 75, 80) and freshman Sebastian Lopez came in 53rd place with a score of 257 (92, 79, 86). The complete order of finish is as follows: 1. Murray State (850), 2. Southern Illinois (861), 3. Tennessee-Martin (872), 4. Tennessee Tech (873), 5. Evansville (880), 6. JSU (903), 7. Birmingham Southern (908), 8. Florida A&M (914), 9. Alabama State (915), 10. Centenary (926), 11. Arkansas - Pine Bluff (1353.
