JSU's Raul Cortes shot a 70, which places him in a tie for second place after the first 18-holes in the Division I men's individual standings at the 21st PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championshipstandings at the 21st PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship. Over 170 contestants from 36 colleges and universities, representing 13 countries comprise the field for the 2007 PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship. State Farm Insurance and The Golf Channel have combined to produce a one-hour Championship highlight programs, which will air on June 6 at 3:00 P.M. EDT and on June 23 at 4:00 P.M. EDT. The major renovations to both the Ryder and Wanamaker Courses were designed by Tom Fazio. The updates to the courses include a conversion of all putting surfaces, the restoration of bunkers, the addition of landscape around the course and drainage improvements. Both courses have received major accolades over the last few years. The Ryder Course was rated the past two years as one of the "Top 50 Courses for Women" by Golf for Women magazine. The Wanamaker Course has been listed in Golf Digest's "Best New Affordable Courses in America" and in Golf Magazine's "The Top 10 Courses You Can Play in Florida.
