Trae Rutland enters his senior season as the starting quarterback for the JSU Tigers... had an up and down 2008 season, but finished strong, leading the Tigers to their second consecutive SWAC Eastern Division Championship and a spot in the SWAC Championship game... with his strong arm should be able to get the ball to a group of talented receivers.

JSU - 2008: Played in all 12 games and started 11 (including the SWAC Championship game)... led the Tigers in passing with 1423 yards (seventh in the SWAC)... completed 56.9 percent of his pass attempts (115-202)... had seven passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions... also led JSU in rushing with 497 yards on 127 attempts and four touchdowns... 2007: Saw action in eight games for the Tigers ... completed 20 of 59 pass attempts for 302 yards ... Had 74 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

At Mississippi State: In 2006, started five games ... threw for 453 yards ... had one touchdown.

High School: Named South Metro Player of the Year in 2005 ... rated the number one quarter back in Georgia ... also named to Georgia super 11 .. in 2004, named team MVP ... rated one of Rival Magazine's top 100 ... passed for 1,400 yards ... played seven games ... had 18 touchdowns ... versus Riverdale high school passed for 430 yards ... had three touchdowns ... rushed for two touchdowns ... in 2003, passed for 1,260 yards ... had 15 touchdowns ... led team to the second round of the state playoffs ... also passed for 390 yards and completed four touchdowns in the first round of playoffs.
