Radio: JSU Network (WOAD - 1300 AM) - with Sam Brown THE GAME Jackson State will open the 2007-08 season with a road game against the Baylor Bears on Nov. 11. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm CST. Jackson State and Baylor will meet for the first time. Last season the Tigers went 6-7 in non-conference games. LAST GAME: The Jackson State Tigers won its two pre-season exhibition games... JSU defeated Springhill 79-74 in its first exhibition game and Miles College 68-65... Darrion Griffin led the Tigers in both exhibition games, scoring 20 against Springhill and 17 against Miles TIGER TIDBITS: * JSU will look for someone to fill the void left by Trey Johnson, who averaged 27.1 points/game * Senior Catraiva Givens led JSU in assists (143) and steals (57) in 2006-07 * Sophonore Grant Maxey was JSU's second leading scorer last season. He was the only Tiger to be named to the 2007-08 Southwestern Athletic Conference pre-season All-Conference Team (2nd Team). Maxey also led the team in rebounds. * Junior Jeremy Caldwell, who missed 10 games to injury, was second on the team in rebounds and the fourth leading scorer in 2006-07 * Senior Kay Martinez will miss approximately eight weeks because of injury to open the 2007-08 season. * JSU head coach Tevester Anderson and his Tigers were selected as the SWAC pre-season No. 1 team 2006-2007 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
* JSU's first win of the season comes against Rutgers (71-70) on Nov. 21
