BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Sophomore Grant Maxey was named to the 2008 SWAC Basketball All-Conference first-team. Maxey averaged 15.1 points per game, had a total of 110 redounds, and 25 steals in conference play.

Sophomore Kevin White received conference all-academic team honors. He is a marketing major with a 3.33 grade point average.

Jackson State finished in fourth place with an overall record of 12-19, 10-8 in conference play. The Tigers are set to take on No. 5 Southern on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at the Fair Park Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
