JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State Tigers men's basketball team will begin the defense of their 2006-07 Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament Championship on Thursday, Mar. 13 when the No. 4 seeded Tigers will take on the No. 5 Southern Jaguars in the first round of the 2007-08 SWAC Tournament. In two games this season each team has won on its own court. Southern won the first game 85-69 and JSU won in 85-71 in Jackson. The Tigers have a 3-3 record coming down the stretch, including dropping the final two games of the season. Southern is also .500 in its last six games. The Jags finished the season with a three game winning streak. Series Record: JSU leads 66-46. Tip-off for Thursday's game is set for 8 pm at the Fairpark Arena in Birmingham, Ala. |
