Dec. 22, 2007 JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Grant Maxey scored a game-high 19 points to help Jackson State snap a five-game losing streak with an 81-57 victory over UC Davis on Friday night at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center. Jackson State (2-10) scored the last seven points of the first half and the first 10 of the second half to take a 50-31 lead with 15:43 left. Jeremy Caldwell added 17 points and 10 rebounds and Garrison Johnson scored 14 for Jackson State, which outrebounded UC Davis 31-20 and hit 55 percent of its shots. Catraiva Givens scored nine points, four rebounds and three assists. Darrion Griffin added six points and dished out six assists. UC Davis (5-6) faded in the second half, making only 10 of 26 shots. Vince Oliver led UC Davis with 16 points, Kyle Brucculeri had 14 and Shane Hanson scored 10. At halftime JSU held a 40-31 advantage. In the second half the Tigers outscored UC Davis 41-26. Jackson State will return to action on Dec. 27 to face TCU in Ft. Worth, TX.
