PRAIRIE VIEW, TX - The Jackson State men's basketball team picked up a big win over the Prairie View A&M Panthers Saturday night at the Williams Nicks Building. JSU beat PVAM 62-48, improving to a 6-18 overall record and a 4-8 Southwestern Athletic Conference mark.

JSU had only two players to score in double figures, but had nine players to score at least two points in the game. Kelsey Howard led JSU with a 20 point effort. He connected on 8-18 shots from the floor, going 2-5 from three-point range. Raymond Gregory had his most effective game of the season as he finished with 10 points and five rebounds. Willie Readus pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds. Keeslee Stewart came off the bench to score nine points and Josh Armstrong recorded a career high seven points on 3-7 shooting from the field.

Ryan Gesiakowski led PVAm with 15 points and Demondre Chapman added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Jackson State played affective defense against PVAM, holding the Panthers to 26.2% shooting from the field and 20% shooting from three point range. The Tigers also out-rebounded Prairie View 43-39.

JSU led 30-26 at halftime.

JSU will return to action Monday, Feb. 13 when the Tigers take on Texas Southern. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
