Jan. 8, 2008 JACKSON, Miss. - Five Jackson State men's basketball players scored in double figures as the Tigers improved to a 2-0 SWAC record with an 81-71 victory over Alabama State Monday night at the Lee E. Williams Athletic and Assembly Center. With the win Jackson State improves to a 3-11 overall reocrd. Alabama State falls to a 5-7, 1-1 record. Jeremy Caldwell finished with a team high 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers. He shot 4-8 from the free thee field and 10-11 from the free throw line. Garrison finished with a career high 17 points on 5-8 shooting. Grant Maxey and Darrion Griffin each scored 13 points. Catraiva Givens was the final Tiger to reach double digit scoring with 10 point Alabama State's Brandon Gordon scored a game high 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Jackson State held a 43-34 lead at halftime. The Tigers will return to action Jan. 12 when JSU travels to Lorman, Miss. to face Alcorn State.
