JACKSON, Miss. - Jackson State's catcher Cortez Cole was named to the 2007 Louisville Slugger's Freshmen All-American Team. In his first season at Jackson State the 5'10" Shannon, Miss. native was named a Southwestern Athletic Conference first team selection. Cole hit .357 with 8 doubles, 4 triples and knocked in 31 runs. He also swiped 14 of 17 bases this season.
