OXFORD, MS - The Jackson State Tigers fell to the Ole Miss Rebels 5-3 Wednesday night at the O-U University Swayze Field. With the loss the Tigers fall to an overall record of 33-16.

The Rebels would post the first two runs of the game in the bottom of the second only to have the Tigers answer the call with two runs of their own in the top of the third to tie the game 2-2. The Rebels would go on to post three more runs to take the lead 5-2 by the fifth inning. The Tigers would score one more run in the top of the six but that would not be enough as the Rebels would take the game 5-3.

The Tigers posted seven hits and committed zero errors while the Rebels had 10 hits and two errors.

Jerome TYES had one run, three hits and one run batted in while Jamaal THELWELL had one hit and one run batted in. Charles WILLIAMS suffered the loss for the Tigers (9-3).

The Tigers will travel to Lorman, Miss., May 2 to take on the Alcorn State Braves for their last three-game conference series. Currently the Tigers are in first-place in the Eastern Division with a 17-3 conference record.
